This is a jewel of a museum. There is so much going on here all the time for all ages and interests. Exhibits are tastefully presented in the most artistic and fun way. Yes, you get to touch!

The Arizona Science Center is a cornucopia of cool science.

The Dorrance Planetarium is where you can see the stars any time of year in the night sky. The program is called “Arizona Skies.” It is free for members! This Arizona planetarium will enthrall you with all the fascinating shows in the brand new multi-million dollar dome.

Then there is the monster IMAX Theater with shows like the "Deep Sea 3D." You get a discount if you are a member.

Up on the 3rd level of the Science Museum you can find a new immersive theater experience called "The Forces of Nature."

You stand on a platform and feel, see, and hear an exciting nature show.

Interact with learning gadgets like the Vortex Ring machine. Best bet for admission is the year pass because you need more than an afternoon to see everything. You will want to come back because there are new fun shows that come to Phoenix all the time. You will really like the member express check-in so you don't have to wait in long lines.

Past favorites were The Titanic, James Bond, Robots, Grossology, etc.

The BodyWorlds3 was a fantastic show featuring real human bodies. Was it a ghoulish exhibit? The thought of looking at real plastinated bodies can be scary. But after seeing this show, we were amazed at the beauty of the human body. There was so much demand to see this show that tickets were often sold out. Yes, it was that popular!

When you are done with the museum there’s a cool gift shop located right at the entrance of the AZ Science Center. Awesome Atom's is the place for novel science gifts. Members get a discount, some restrictions apply.

And if you need refreshments, you can try the CityBakery where you can get beverages, hot & cold sandwiches, salads, and of course dessert.

How do you get there?

There is a lot of street construction so the best way to get there is travel on 7th Street then go West on E. Monroe Street and park at the Heritage and Science Park Garage. Remember to bring your parking stub to the center so you can get it validated when you get your entrance tickets. Please see the map below. Phone: (602) 716-2099.

Or skip the traffic and parking hassles and go there via the Phoenix Metro Rail. Just leave your car at a park-and-ride lot and enjoy your friends and family while you travel. Wouldn't you like to get picked up by the Metro:

Before you leave, walk around the Arizona Science Center and look at the old historical homes that have been restored to mint condition. Here's a photo of one of these homes from the parking lot.
