Pancho's Mexican Buffet

Did you know there is a Mexican buffet in Mesa? Pancho's Mexican Buffet is a convenient place to enjoy Mexican fare.

The Mesa location is perfect, close to hungry shoppers at the Fiesta Mall. And right next to Banner Desert Medical Center, and Mesa Community College on Southern Avenue.

There are lots of good Mexican take-out places in Mesa. Not many sit down buffets though. Convenience food makes perfect sense when you want to save time and eat at home or in your car.

When you have a little time and want to savor a moment that you will remember, try out a sit down place like Panchos Mexican Buffet. Get out of the heat and the hustle and you can enjoy food, fun, and talk with friends.

Anyway, Panchos Mexican Restaurant is a little different from other buffets. First thing you notice is how cheap, er, inexpensive the food is. The prices are so low you might wonder about food quality. But why do we think high prices = better food?

The price for dinner is just a tad more than lunch so there’s no rush to get there. Plus when I was there you got a discount if you produced a business card!

So after you gasp at the low prices you then select your food cafeteria style. Servers will fill your tray up with the usual Mexican fare, tacos, rice & beans. Dive into the guacamole dip of course.

The corn flavor in the tamales was very fresh tasting and you get all the basics here with no expensive frills. Plus you can try out stuff you'd never order at a more elaborate Mexican restuarant.

The food selection was placed on a plate with a built in metal warming insert to keep the hot food, well, hot! Then you make your way to a comfortable table or booth.

The portions are generous and you can get more! Here's the fun part. Just raise a little flag on the table and a server will bring you a new order.

Someone recommended a dessert called “sopapillas.” So we tried some and they are real tasty with a little honey. These little gems tasted like square donuts.
