Anzio Landing Restaurant
The Anzio Landing Restaurant features fine food and wine in the Mediterranean Italian flavor. There’s a “good ol' days” feel to the place with WWII aircraft memorabilia like propellers, old flight jackets etc. tastefully displayed on the walls.
It looks like a villa in Italy from the outside. Anzio is a coastal town near Rome in Italy and there was activity there in WWII. So the name fits in with the theme of the restaurant.

The staff treat you like guests and our experience was grand. Great for those people who enjoy food, good atmosphere and enjoy looking at aircraft while you dine. The view out the windows is remarkable. Imagine how fun it is when you can look out onto the tarmac! The aircraft will change from time to time.
You might see a B-25 H Mitchell Bomber parked right in front along with various private planes and a camouflaged jet fighter!
Do you want to see what the view looks like? This is the picture window view from the restaurant:

If you fly into the airport with your own plane you can even land, taxi your plane and then walk in here to eat! Most all the windows face the runway so it’s beautiful with the planes and the desert sky.You can also see aircraft take off and land on the runway behind the parked planes. They are located at the east end of runway 22L in Mesa’s Falcon Field (check out the map below with the satellite view and you can see the runway numbers and parked airplanes).
Anzio Landing Restaurant is more than a cool location. The food is remarkable! The food is the quality you'd expect for the price. For instance, you get these huge cheese sticks that are more like small loaves of bread. There’s crispy cheese on the outside and warm dough on the inside. There are three types of Italian food to be enjoyed in Mesa. First you have the fast food type of place. Then there’s the sit down places with great food and good value priced meals like
Rigatony’s.
Then the remarkable restaurants have both great food and a unique fun atmosphere. That describes the Anzio Landing Restaurant.

You won’t leave here hungry because the portions are large. If you have room for dessert the bread pudding comes out on fire, what fun! Besides the main dining room there are a couple other rooms for parties. We threw a birthday party for a WWII vet and the whole mob had a great time! Located on the east side of Mesa’s Falcon Field Municipal Airport, the street address is 2613 N. Thunderbird Circle in Mesa. Phone: (480) 832-1188. Please see map below if you need directions.
